Oh, whoops, I forgot to write about Coral Bay and now we’re nearly finished at Williambury, aah well, here goes then.

At age 17 I decided it was time to travel around Australia, where I was born and have grown up. At age 32 I finally started, travelled 3000km, stopped for a while, went backward 2500km then went forward the same 2500km and stopped for another 3 years. Finally now aged 36 with a wife and our two kids in tow I'm really setting out. This will hopefully be something special in our lives and also the start of a new career for me (also decided at 17) as a professional photographer.

In my time here in Cairns I've met so many people trapped by a mortgage, career and all the other "real life" responsibilities, with a bit of luck all my friends who have said I'm lucky and that they envy what we're about to do will see that it really has got nothing to do with luck and that anyone can set out and live.

To say that i am a little jealous would be an understatement.
Sounds like you are having the adventure you always dreamed of, so excited to hear it come to reality for you guys.
We are soaking up a bit of Noosa with your loved ones (Danni and Craig) at the moment, but we unfortunately must return to the race.
Hoping to get free ourselves soon, but everything takes time.
We purchased our Kombi about 5 weeks ago and have run away for a short break on a couple fo occassions, so much fun, feel young and free.

Ah, lovely downtown Mataranka. We lived there for two years. Beautiful part of the world, especially after rain. The people who run the supermarket in Mataranka were among the first in the NT to say no to plastic bags.
