Friday 13 April - Songkran

Up early and at 6.45am June and I were walking hand in hand along the beach as the sun rose. Once again breakfast was a disjointed and unpleasant affair…. This time they took Junes order and then b*****ed of leaving Shelley and I wondering what was happening. I called the waiter back in an attempt to place my order but her misinterpreted this as us wanting the bill….???? We hadn't even ordered ???? Another episode in the bizarre breakfast behavior of the Kata Noi local people. Eventually Shelley and I managed to persuade them to make us some toast! Phew

The remainder of the day was spent on the beach - avoiding water fights with young tourists. The snorkeling was , once again, superb. Shelley went back to the villa early whilst June and I enjoyed a cocktail at a bar called "on the rock"

In the evening my girls did me proud by dressing up and we all went out to a fab restaurant called (spookily) "On the Rock" - A fabulous setting and we drank cocktails as the sunset. 3 course meal for 3 plus wine - £80. Great VFM. But more importantly, Shelley and June looked absolutely lovely...

On the way home we stopped of to buy the painting we had had our eye on. It had been completed and the chap rolled it up and we paid 5000 Thai Baht for it (£102). The artist was called SAMRAN TONGKAM. And then back to the villa to pack. We are up at 6 tomorrow for a trip to Bangkok and then home.
