Following a fabulously sociable evening we both woke up at about 5am but then managed to doze until 7 ish. Our bags arrived about 9 which was great AND the biscuits we had bought for john and caroline in Christchurch, had survived the immigration people.
After bacon butties, John and Jo walked us all down to the beach at narrowneck. Absolutely gorgeous.... Stunning scenery with a view to die for,JB had a swim and then we walked back to their house to pick up the car before heading off to north head and then into devonport. Had a beer at the patriot pub and then walked around the town. We were still feeling a but jaded and so we went back for an hours sleep.
In the evening we caught the ferry over to Auckland and had a lovely meal in s Spanish restaurant in the harbourside.... JB and Jo's friends came along. Doug and Jane stem from Cardiff and Doug gave us some fabulous top tips for our road trip.
Caught the last ferry - 10pm back to devonport ....Simon drove the van back to JBs place...had a nightcap and then
