We woke up to another rainy day...but this one was a little different...at breakfast the power went out, which also meant no phones and no water!

We lazed around the hotel for a bit reading hoping the rain would let up, after a couple hours it became clear that wasn't going to happen so we decided the rain wouldn't beat us and we got a taxi (boat) into town.

What else do 5 girls do on a rainy day? Shop! We wandered in and out of all the shops in Tortuguero, there was one that is owned by a local artist who makes jewelry and wall hangings out of materials she finds in Tortuguero (seeds, beach wood, fish gills etc).

After a bit of shopping, with still no power we went to a coffee shop and had a couple drinks...and to the sound of our applause the lights came on and the rain stopped!! So more shopping then a group dinner at a very trendy and delicious restaurant just off the beaten path and overlooked the beach. The food was wonderful, unfortunately I started to feel a little sick so I didn't get to enjoy mine.

After dinner we got another Taxi back to the hotel where the rest of the girls danced the night away with Freddie the bartender and I took some gravol and went to bed...
