Arrived in cairns to extreme humidity, it was like a fan assisted oven hitting you when they opened the door of the plane. Got to hostel and there were 2 rooms in the room so I took the room with the double bed and separate bathroom, a little luxury. Went on the barrier reef trip which was amazing. We went to 2 separate reefs and could snorkel dive and go in a glass bottom boat at each. I went snorkelling and in the boat which was awesome. The staff were great and weather was amazing. Even the water temperature was 29degrees. There were sharks and stingrays which i didnt see but i saw some turtles and nemo. We were out all day and sunbathed at the front of the boat, it was hot. Wexwere reslly lucky it rained as we were heading back. I met 3 girls from the uk who are doing the same trips as me but on different boats and they are 1 day ahead of me. Will meet up in some places though which will be good. Arrived back and took a cold shower, had my free food and early night.
9th dec
Had a day off tours today so walked to the centre and laguna, it was so hot I got straight into the pool as soon as I got there. That was warm too. There is a public pool with man made beach for free use. You wouldn't get that in the uk even if we had the weather. Sat in the shade as it was 34degrees. Girls from barrier trip saw me and sat with them all day. Really relaxing but a very hot day. Walked back and took a cold shower, it is do humid I will loose a stone from sweating. Cairns is a nice city but it is far too hot for me. I am not complaining but there is no air. Cape tribulation tomorrow
