Alice Springs was a nice enough little town but just a bit of a stop over before taking a 5 hour drive towards Ayers Rock or Uluru which was its aborigional name and what they now call it again.
Ayers Rock was honestly brilliant. Believe it or not the 1st day we arrived it rained so we couldnt see the sunset due to the clouds, then camping in our supposed waterproof swag bags that night and waking up in an inch of water things wasnt quit going to plan, but me and Nic thought it was brilliant and funny. I think Nic was just relieved to wake up and not have to explain that she pissed herslef in the tour dudes swag bag. She kept saying all night "stu is your bad a bit wet" and i kept telling her that it was just damp.
Due to the weather being crap all night and that we missed the sunset we got up early to see the sunrise over the rock. This was seriously one of the best things i have ever seen. The rock actually changes colour as soon as the sun hits it and there was even a rainbow going from one end to the next. Brilliant.
After walking around the rock which took ages we went to another campsite and sat around the fire hoping to see dingos and god knows whatever else was around. I think Nic might of scared them off though because everytime she walked anywhere it was slightly dark she would bang her feet hard on the ground which aparently scared off snakes. She still does it now down the street bless her.
The next day we went to a place called Kings Canyon which was really good aswell. Some people thought it was better than Ayers Rock but we didnt and we are the best.
