Well, as days go, I've had better. I got up after an on off nights sleep (the loud thumping music went on till about 2 or 3). I was tired and it was raining. I checked out of my lovely (well it was bog standard basic but felt like luxury) room, got to my car to chuck my stuff in and oh lovely, a parking ticket. It was only £6 which probably worked out cheaper than a car park so I'll take that! I set off on my 4.5 hour journey to Wellington. New Zealand is still pretty in the rain but it's a shame I couldn't see the lake properly as I drove down the side of it. My driving skills were put to the test too as the roads were windy, I was tired and it was wet. At some points on the way down the rain was so bad I couldn't see the road. Through the national park I couldn't tell if I had mountains, fields or water next to me the fog was so bad. But I ploughed on and it eventually brightened up. Then rained again. Then brightened up. Highway 1 is relatively straight and boring with not much scenery. Then I got into Wellington which is where it all went wrong. Even with the sat nav I kept getting lost, which is an achievement in itself. If I shouted the f word once I shouted it 20 times. I was so tired having driven without a break (yes my fault I know), all I wanted to do was find my hostel. After about an hour of arsing about, I found it. Asked of they had a car park and was told it was round the back. Which is went I got lost again. For the love of god give me strength! I wasn't even going to stay in Wellington when I made my plans! I got sorted in the end and checked into my dorm. So over these now. I had to have a top bunk as the others were taken so I just say up there and sulked. I also had a snooze which was quite nice and definitely needed! I then got ready as Shane and Krishma would soon be here. I met them in reception before we headed into town. It was so good to see them and I think they felt the same about me! We caught up on where we'd been and where we were going over dinner. Mexican again, lush. I think I'm going to rejig my plans again do I can spend some more time with them in Queenstown etc. Will mean a bit more driving but I'd rather do that and not be on my own! It's more fun with others too. So we had dinner and headed back to the hostel to bed. My last night on the north island was over. Onwards and downwards to the south in the morning.....
