It's hot and sunny in Maidenhead. We've been basking in the sun and bathing in the hot tub (OK the bird bath!).

Not really, but you said you were fed up of hearing that it's snowing in England.

Walked all the way to Matthew's school this morning to find a note on the gate saying it's shut. They haven't heard of technology like radio stations, text messaging or the internet to notify people. Ended up in the park next to the school with Matthew's friends making giant snowballs. Work closed today (and tomorrow) to students but staff expected to get in - just great. Didn't manage it today though!

Feeling smug. Knew that the snow was on the way so went to John Lewis yesterday morning and ordered aTV etc. The assistant who served us spent about 45 minutes with us oldies explaining everything.He told us what it was like before Christmas when 60 shoppers spent the night in the store. It took him 3 hours to walk home down that hill into High Wycombe. On our way home we called in at Waitrose (with a few hundred others) and got some food. Our milkman managed to get to us today bless him. Snow 6 ins deep and still snowing. John will laugh at this!!Lots of Love N & G

Thanks for reminding me that I'm back to work tomorrow! The Christmas hols always go way too fast because of all the visiting family members and forgetting that time flies when you're having fun!
Grandpa had a good birthday yesterday (he was very over-excited of course!). He received lots of presents - many with a railway theme!
We're enjoying watching the England / South Africa test match. England are already 1-0 up in the series - they beat SA by an innings and nearly 100 runs in the last test!

YLM's been on the booze again!!

Well it's that time of year again! Out with the old one and in with the new. Nan and Grandpa will be doing their annual parachute jump tomorrow morning to welcome in the New Year. They tend to do a tandem jump nowadays as it means they only have to pack one parachute, plus Grandpa operates the parachute, while Nan makes sure that her hairdo doesn't get messed up! They are saving the wing walking for the Bournemouth Airshow in the summer. Hope you had a fab New Year celebration in Sydney! Lots of love, YLM xxxxx

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Yes I know it's been and gone where you are! Hope you had a great time - looked out for you on telly when they showed the Sydney fireworks, funny though, couldn't spot you!

We've just had a chinese takeaway to celebrate new year & will probably watch Mr Bean's Holiday later (we know how to live - well it was on special offer in the supermarket!).
