Hey everyone.
So, the train journey. Well the train itself was like...over 19 carriges long. It was just full of Chinese people, Russian people, me, and 2 italians who were in my compartment.
The beds were comfy, the toilets were clean, the resturant cart was nice, and there were places to charge things (DVD player was best buy of my life...managed to watch nearly all of Prison Break!). The train was nice enough.
The 2 carriage attendants were f***ing scary ladies. Big women who were shouting at us and I have no f***ing idea what was going on. But after a couple of days, they really sweeten up and called us 'Italiano' (I'm aware I'm not Italian but it was easier this way)
The scenery was absolutely beautiful at times.
Sometimes stopped in a station for 15 minutes and you rushed out to buy food and drink and I nearly missed the train once, and so did Marco and Benedita.
Just kept myself busy with watching DVDs, reading, listening to my iPod and talking to Marco and Benedita.
Customs took 12 hours from when we arrived to when we set off again. And we arrived at 2:30AM!!! That was hell.
So I get into Moscow...and 3 hours later I find somewhere to stay. The metro is f***ing impossible unless you have a map and I was ready to f***ing fly home I was so pissed off.
So I get to this first hostel in the middle of nowhere...full. So I head to a bigger one but the metro weas complicated to get there so I got back to the train station and got a taxi to the place.
5 minutes later in the taxi and we are there. Anyway I give him 100 roubles (50 roubles = 1 quid), but he wanted more, so I took that back and gave him 500, expecting change. The b****** wanted 700 roubles (14 quid!!!!!) for a 5 minute journey. He still had my bag locked in the boot.
I f***ing lost it - It had been 2 hours now since I'd been in Moscow and I lost it. I grabbed him and just pushed him onto the boot of the car, and shouted at him to get my f***ing bag out of the f***ing boot now. So he did. But the slimy b****** still walked away with ten quid.
Anyway I'm going to try and leave this place tonight to go to Kiev in Ukraine. It doesn't seem that bad, but when you have a backpack and your lost its hell.
Hope everyone is well.
