We have to get up at 6.45 and get a bus to catch a boat to the jungle. It is v hot. The bus takes 4 hours to get to Kuala Terenggan. We are going to the oldest rain forest which can only be got to by boat - this take another 3 hours but is really nice. Nick sleeps - He is not listening to my tips on jet lag. Arrive at Nusa Camp which is amazing and on the side of the river - we have a cute little hut where we can see the river and jungle. Have tea which is fairly minging ( why do they have to have rice with everything - even for breakfast!) and then go on a night jungle trek. We are unlucky and do not see any snakes or big spiders ony insects and a scorpian. Nick is begining to miss beer - i am missing chocolate. Didnt sleep that well because of the noice in the jungle. Get int he boat and go to the logest canopy walk in the world - it is great as we can see the tops of trees. I do not see any monkeys again. When we finish Nick starts to talk to the guide which is all very funny he says he would like to go to england and asked nick what animals we have - nick tries to discribe sheep - he the doesnt get it so nick starts acting out what it looks like - the guide says "ahh like a rabbit" he tells us there are tigers and elephants here but do not see them becuase they can smell us. Go on a 3 hour walk every one sees a monkey - i only see falling leaves - but is really good anyway After lunch we get in a boat and go and find a native tribe who live in the jungle and are nomads. They look at us like we are v strange. One man makes fire in under a minute and how to hunt - to make a blow pipe and arrows. Nick has a go and is really good and hits the target....I do not. We say good bye to the bacti tribe in their lanuage. It was really unbelieveable how they live. - they sometimes let you stay and you can teach them how to write and stuff and they take you hunting - they eat monkey. When we get back to camp we think it is a good idea to walk to a waterfall - 10 mins into the walk reliase that it is much darker in the jungle so have to run for about 20min in the heat - it is not that great. Nick takes it upon himself to become some sort of army leader - we get back in good time. We catch a boat back and the bus and guess what...running across the road is a monkey!
