Had an early start from Adelaide 5 am again!!! we travelled through the Claire Valley ( wine region) stopped at Mt Remarkable look out with again great views stopped at Quorn where our base was for 2 nights in an old Railway/ coach house after lunch we hiked to the top of Dutchman;s stern with 360 degree views over spencer gulf and the findlers ranges we chose to do the hard hike about 8 out of 20 of us did it again good old work out but amazing views over the creater this was 8 k but only steep in some places, our groups turn to cook tonight Aussie bbq Camel sausages Kangaroo and Emu bergers, was great untill the Gas ran out on the bbq!!!.
We soent most of the day driving up to Coober Pedy ( well there not a lot I can say about Coober Pedy!!!) it is like some thing from a film set or from the moon!!!, Most locals houses are under ground as it get up 46 degress in the summer , hughe area for Opeal mining had a tour of a mine and wentnoodling ( searching for opeals) did not find any!! went to the undergroundpub for the night which was good fun met the locals!!! on they way back that was interesting, then time for bed underground!!,
Travelled throught the Rugged desert to Uluru today I can see why they filmed Mad max here, we saw an Aussie horror beeing filmed to!!
Got To our camp at Ulara and headed off to watch the sunset at Uluru had champange while we all watched the rock change, really is amazing place so quiet , next back and camped out under the stars in our swaggs a truly unforgetable and special day.
Woke up 4 am on the road to see sunrise at Uluru ( but no sunrise!!!0 we were very lucky as we walked the base of the rock it started to rain, which is a very special thing to see as not many people do, the rock changed to Purple and had waterfalls coming off of it, really was a very special wedding Anniversay!!.
once the ran stoped we visited the Plgas and then to camp under the stars again.
Next day hiking around Kings cannon again really dreat place with the lush Garden of Eden then off to Alice Springs, I dont have much to say about Alice Springs!!! on arrival at the Hostel we met the locals again!!! and was advised not to walk back from the pub !!! as there was a good group of us we walked up to the pub which was great called Bogangles it was really quirky done as outback you go to the ladies turn a tap on for you sink and the next one comes on!! had a really great night, and time to say good bye to some fellow travellers, the next of us met in the morning and had breakie and walked around Alicethen time to head back to melbourne for some sleep.
