We decided to spend our Easter holidays enjoying some of the things going on in Melbourne and also experiencing a bit of Tasmania. We took a train ride out of the city and up into the Dandenong ranges. This is a National Park and as you walk into the thick forest there is a lovely smell of eucalyptus. Tasmania Week two of the holidays we flew into Hobart the main city in Tassie. Tassie is a State of Australia but not attached to the mainland and about a 45min flight from Melbourne. Its a very beautiful Island with amazing mountains, forests, lakes and beaches (although parts are looking quite brown due to the droughts). ST. KILDA FESTIVAL We spent the day with thousands of others walking around St. Kilda. Highlights were all the bands that seemed to have set up in every available bar and venue in St. Kilda. Really bright sunny day and excellent for just relaxing listening to music. Also managed to force down a bit of food and fitted in a free Chiropractic Check from one of the many stalls here. On one of our days off from work we decided to take boat trip to Williamstown. It's a nearby town further into Port Philip Bay, and in fact the first place where settlers were based. Then later they worked further up the river in Melbourne. Anyway, it's a really nice small town with a good beach and nice gardens (see the photos.)
