Luang Prabang We absolutely loved Luang Prabang! A small town on the river Mekong with lots of character and French Influence. Spent lots of time at the night market and food market as well as seeing the monks and temples here. Also spent an amazing 3 days trekking through the jungle... One of the most inspiring activities of our trip. Seeing hill-tribes, staying with them and learning all about the Laos culture from our fantastic guides, Tsu and Guy. BRILLIANT...

Vietiane Horrible long uncomfortable overnight journey here on a sleeper 'VIP' bus. Still, it seams like a nice capital. Going to do lots of sorting here (laundry, money, visas, internet, shopping, uk job aplications etc) before heading up to Northern Laos into the forests for some trekking. Don Khon After another interesting (corrupt!) border crossing, we made it to Don Khon, one of the 'Four Thousand Islands' area in the Mekong River... Straight away the stess of the long journey started to leave us and over the next three days we basically became mroe and more chilled out. Very quiet here, so our time was spentrelaxing in hammocks, reading, sleeping, eating (great fish in banana leaves), walking to waterfalls, swimming by beaches in the fast flo...
