Got up early to pack up our stuff and get to Krabi Airport for our flight to Kuala Lumpur. Taxi arrived at 0900 and cost 600 Baht. We'd been told it was an hours drive but we were there within 30mins - so early for yet another flight!
Had some brunch to kill time until we were able to check in. We flew with Air Asia again and got front row seats. We had to walk on the runway to get to the plane! Was a good flight, wasted sometime doing our visa and immigration documents. The airport was manic and such a mess but immigration was quick and our bags came promptly.
Taxi to our hostel in the city was going to cost 93 Ringgits (around 15gbp) so opted for a bus at 9 Ringgits each. Very dodgy driver but eventually got to the city centre. We'd seen the KL Tower and Patronas Towers on the drive into the city. We were told we'd be dropped at China Town where our hostel is but the driver stopped and told everyone to get out as it was the only stop! We had no idea where we were so waved down a taxi.
Got to our hostel, Matahari Lodge, in the end, our first hostel with shared toilets and showers, all seems ok and the staff are really helpful.
We have booked a hop on, hop off bus to see the city tomorrow. We only have the one full day and want to see as much as we can and it was only 3pound each for a 24hr ticket so figured this was our best bet.
Went for dinner and hada roast chicken which was nice. After we treated ourselves to a hot choc at Starbucks!! China town is crazy busy, abit like Khao San Rd in Bangkok in that stalls, shops and people flogging stuff everywhere! Nicks wallet was falling apart so bartered for a new one along with a belt to keep his shorts up!
