We caught a boat from Krabi to Ko Phi Phi (no break downs this tim luckily!!). Rich and me used it as an excuse to top up our tans!! This is the first of the Thai islands we'd been to and I was really looking forward to going there! I wasn't disappointed at all! Ko Phi Phi is amazing!! It's so beautiful! It was completely devastated by the tsunami but they've rebuilt the island so well! It's a really thin strip of land between mountains and a tidal wave apparently came from both sides of the island just tearing it to pieces.
We went to the beach on one side of the island as soon as we'd found some accommodation. The sea was so turquoise and so warm! We all went for a swim and it was actually quite nice to get out of the water and cool off!
We'd been recommended a rstaurant to eat in called 'Papaya', a traditional Thai restaurant. The food was amazing! We all had Penang curry which was just soooo nice! The funniest thing about the restaurant was that they have cats in the fridge!! They have a fridge full of drinks and cats just wander in off the street and the waitresses open up the fridge door for them to go and sit in and cool off!! They even have a tip box for cat food! It was so funny!
We decided to have a night out on the island and watched a fire show in one of the bars. I don't know how those guys play with fie the way they do but it's amazing to watch (I realise everything is amazing, but there is no better word!!). We also went to watch some Thai boxing. The professionals were good to watch but it all loked a bit fake. They let some girls in from the crowd and they really went for each other! It was so funny! They stopped for a hug half way through and then carried on pounding each other!
I also befriended a chicken(!) and a cat that night! I think I was missing Jess!!
We had a walk up to the viewpoint the next day which was exhausting! They don't tell you how far it is to walk when you're at the bottom! And it was such a long way up hill in the midday sun!! It was worth it when we got to the top though because you could see the whole island! The sea looked even more bauiful from up there! There was also a picture pinned up of how the view looked after the tsunami and it was awful.
We had a kip on the beach on the other side of the island and got woken up by the cicadas! They are soooo loud!! We had another amazing meal in a reastaurant called 'Unni's' and had an earlyish night on our last night on the island!!
