Cat, Beth and me travelled together from Ko Tao to Ko Lanta. Everyone else had gone home by this point! It was sad saying goodbye to everyone and Ko Tao too! Lots of good memories there!
We only stayed in Ko Lanta for one night and went back to 'Thai Cat', our favourite restaurant! We used Ko Lanta as a stop off on the way to Malaysia! We thought it would give us a break on the way but it just ended up being really expensive on boats and accommodation! We had a scare that night too (I think we were actually just being paranoid but we all wound each other up!). We were going to bed when we heard really loud bangs that sounded like gun shots! We were convinced they were gunshots and thought we were gonna see a man carrying a gun walking past our room at any moment! None of us wanted to get up and look though cos we were too scared! There was a storm as well so it seemed even more eerie!! Somebody told us the next day that it was just fireworks but it really didn't sound like it at the time!!
We caught a speed boat to Ko Lipe which was such a cool journey. It took 3 hours to get there and there weren't many people on the boat. The scenery was amazing too, as it always is in Thailand. It's so easy to become complacent about all the gorgeous scenery but I quite like the journeys we make so I can watch all the scenery.
Ko Lioe is a beautiful Thai island. Not many tourists go there as it's so out of the way. It was the build up to Thai new year (Songkran) when we were there so a lot of the Thai people were there with their families to celebrate. We managed to miss Songkran and we were gutted cos it sounds like such good fun! Everyone just chucks water at everyone else in the street!
We sat on the beautiful beach and did some snorkelling too. A really nice English couple lent us their snorkels and we went just off the beach. There was so much marine life there! I think I saw more snorkelling there than I did diving in Ko Tao!! It was amazing!!!
We had dinner in a restaurnat with about a hundred lady boys! So funny! We only stayed in Ko Lipe for 2 nights but I'm really glad we went there as it's so beautiful!
