We arrived in salta on the saturday before easter sunday and decided to actually try and do something over the next few days before we finally left argentina and headed closer to bolivia. So after a night out on saturday we decided to try white water rafting and horse riding over the next few days. On sunday we took it easy having a bit of a wander and trying to book some tours. We finally settled on half a days horse riding the next day and rafting on wednesday...

So i arrived in Mendoza, the wine capital of Argentina, not very well at all. We had made a reservation at a hostel, but we got there and really werent impressed so tried to find another one. We had been given a flyer at the bus station so headed there and at that point i really didnt care where we stayed as long as i got a bed. I spent the next two nights being very sick and feeling sorry for myself but managing to make it back to the bus station to book tickets...

Our ears pricked up when we realised we were headed for the chocolate capital of argentina, Bariloche. Its situated at the edge of the andes in the lake district and itself is on the lakefront with national parks and skiing centres all around. Puerto Madryn is a major fishing port on the eastern coast of argentina. Although it is a relatively non descript town itself it is surrounded by places where you can see sealions, penguins and whales and the most important of these places is the reserve of peninsula valdes.
