Just got back from Halong bay.. a very bazarre experience.. 3 hours in the bus and 4 hours on a boat, to a cave (pretty good, had a stalagtite that looked like a winky), then to halong bay.. for some reason our guide wouldn't let us of the boat so we were stuck 50 yards away from the sure (and karaoke bars) on this crappy old boat.Our guide also wouldn't let us go Kayacking and at one point he tried to start a fight with a girl on the tour? Luckily we got drunk (on some random spirit that tasted like feet) and played cards. then we came home (another 3 hours in the bus and 4 hours on the boat). We're off to Hue tonight (13 hrs on the bus) so that should be fun!!! speak soon, Matt.
