Choppers Travels
Arrived here 3 days ago. Got straight into the sight seeing. Saw loads of temples (as usual) but also went to a buddah park, it's a collection of buddah related statues (collected by a bloke in the 50s). Probably the most interesting bit of sightseeing in Laos. Also went to a few musiums which were quite interesting (learned a little bit about laoatian history).
They had a mad storm about 2 days ago, it passed in about an hour but once it had gone the place was a bit of a mess, loads of uprooted trees (massive ones) and broken branches, they must be ussed to it thought because it's pretty much all cleared up now. I've never seen anything like it, unfortunately i didn't take any pictures, ho hum.
also went bowling, just like megabowl but cheaper. I managed to win a game (against 3 girls so not much competition there, sorry) and devlin won one (she got lucky).
i think that's about it for here. We're off back to thailand again tomorrow, looking forward to having a look around the place (just stayed around the kho sam road and got tipsy the last two times we went), maybe stay in the old town. The bus picks me up in an hour and a half so i'm gonna have to dash.
oh yeh, for some reason i decided to buy a guitar today (13 quid with case), i really don't know why but i think i got a bit carried away (and maybe last nights booze was still running through my system). Anyway i'm a real traveller now (either that or a real prat!), so expect to be dazzled when i get home by my skills as a guitarist. The only problem is i have no idea how to read music, play the guitar or even tune one, hopefully all those years playing the bugle in the boys bregade will have paid off and i'll be a natural.
have a gooden and don't forget to e-mail.
