I arrived in style (first class) at Guatemala City at 6.50am and waited for lee to pick me up at 7.30am and head to Antigua. I didn't find lee till 9 am as my phone (typical Telstra) was not working and we eventually ran into each other.
We caught a shuttle to Antigua, Guatemala which took about 40mins. Antigua is a beautiful cobble stone lane town surrounded by mountains and volcanos. According to the book of lee, there is 240 volcanos in Central America.
We grab a local lunch, and practiced our bad or non existent Spanish to order our meal.
We then set off on our trek to pacoya volcano, we caught a yellow school bus then trekked up the side for a 1hr 1/2. When we arrives it was like we were on the moon couldn't see 5 meters in front! It was pretty amazing. We then did the dangerous trek down in the dark, we both survived and enjoyed a hamburger and a quiet beer for dinner.
That night was the first time I'd laid down flat to sleep for 3 day, I couldn't wait for bed!
