Well the glacier walk was amazing! We were on the ice for about six hours and climbed up to some amazing crevices and ice compression caves, etc. Went head first through an ice cave so naturally I am covered in cuts and bruises but it was amazing fun. Frigging cold when wet though!
The next day we decided to stay an extra day in Franz Josef and worked for our keep! In exchange for a couple of hours of kitchen cleaning and bed changing we got free accommodation, dinner and a couple of beers. Not at all bad. Plus it meant we could spend the afternoon in the free hot tub and read until we had such sweats that we couldnt stand it any more.
We got back on the coach the next day, but with a different group of people and headed South to Wanaka. We stopped at loads of places en route, including the place in this photo. However the cloud was rubbish and i couldnt actually see the mountains from the look out place we walked round to! Got to Wanaka pretty late so had some dinner and spent the evening watching films! Friday was our last day on the kiwi bus and took us to Queenstown. We got in late afternoon and went to Alex's aunts school to meet her and then back to her house. No more hostels for us! woo woo! Thats the way to backpack! Me and alex went out on the town in the evening while Sarah and her partner went to the school quiz night.
The next day was horrible weather wise so we went to a really cute cinema in Arrowtown. Me and Alex sat on beanbags at the front and the others in sofas! Saw Boy, which is a kiwi film, so I felt like I was sightseeing from the beanbag! Lazy sighseeing! We then went for a little walk and had a roast for dinner, despite also eating throughout the day. mmmm, good day!
TODAY I DID A BUNGY JUMP!!!! It was huuuuge! 134m. The original bungy which is also in NZ is only 50m! 8 seconds of freefall and then a lot of time of bouncing! The weather was rubbish so got pretty wet doing it but it was amazing! The guy who was attaching the rope to me mentioned budgies and eagles as i was shuffling to the edge, which reminded me of Newstead - Mrs Allen always saying dont be a budgy, be an eagle.... so i lept into the air despite kind of wanting to throw up a little! Aparently the biggest one is in Macau so now we are thinking of taking a trip out there when we are in Hong Kong....223m!!!!
Tomorrow we are doing a canyon swing which I think sounds far tamer than it actually will be. Cant wait! xxxx

louise hello little miss daredevil!! xxxx
Grannie Hi Victoria, I'm reliving my first visit to N.Z. thro' your blogs. Queenstown is a remarkable town as are The Remarables. Is there snow on the tops or is it the wrong season. We went to Glen Ogle where , if I remember rightly is a very old post office and we crossed the lake to the low red roofed mansion. Keep well and have fun. Love to you both, Grannie.
Grannie Hi Victoria, it's me again. I can't spell Remarkables. Love you lots ,Grannie.
Michael Rees Victoria, great to hear of your ongoing travels and must say the bungee jump sounded spectacular/frightening. Must say however I'm disappointed you didn't take any pictures during your 134 metre descent to show us!! Currently visiting Grannie and finding it difficult to keep up with her pace! She's 100 miles an hour and slighlty bonkers (in a nice way). Spent the weekend golfing with H and Stuart at Machrihanish. They are jealous of your trip and send their love. Keep safe, missing you and make sure Alex looks after you! Love Dad.x
