We all finally arrived in Orlando via many destinations. Mum and Dad flew Tunisia to London Gatwick and then Orlando. Alexandra from Belize to Miami to Orlando and me Heathrow to NY to Orlando. When people asked us in Orlando where we were from it was never an easy answer!
Despite us all having a super long day on the first morning, when Mum woke us up early (about 6am) and said the magic words - Harry Potter - we actually leapt out of bed and basically ran to the park to Harry Potter World. It opens an hour earlier than the rest of the park so you can get onto the rides asap! We were staying in the Hard Rock Hotel which is on site of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and is AWESOME. Partially because it is so close but mainly because it gives you fast pass for all of the rides. This meant we could basically run around and go on rides over and over and over. Which naturally we did.
However, I think because of this lack of queuing I discovered that I have developed this thing where I pass out a little during rides. I largely ignored this, the safety belts are there for a reason and that is to stop you from falling out...! Its like doing rides in the dark, in daytime. Great!
The other advantage of the Hard Rock Hotel was that we were staying on the seventh floor. Ooooh. This means you have to put your key card into the lift in order to be allowed up the floor. SO COOL. It makes you look awesome when there are other people in the lift! It also means that about five times a day there is free food. I think I ate more at breakfast the last few days than you are meant to eat all day. This was then followed by morning snack, lunch, afternoon food, five-oclock-sis and dinner. Hurray for America.
Anyway, the parks are still amazing. Harry Potter world is really like going into Hogsmede, the Jurassic Park section still scares the bejeebus out of me, Spiderman and the Hulk continue to be incredible despite their age.
We also ate at Kobe, a Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you, FUN. Played mini golf (i lost to Dad by 1, robbed). However, the obvious highlight of the week was winning the poolside Hulahooping contest for over 21s. YES!
Anyway, the time at Universal had to come to an end and onward to Siesta Key it is.
