San Pedro De Atamaca
We arrived to the dusty streets of San Pedro in the middle of the desert. On route we saw some south american Alpachas roaming around although werent quick enough to catch a photo.
The town immediatly looked our cup of tea, small and authentic looking. We were picked up by our hostel and taken to check in. the hostel was lovely, open plan with hammocks and an open fire near the kitchen.
We spent 3 days here really relaxing and taking in the town whilst also chilling with the other people in the hostel.
On day 2 we did a tour to the Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon) We left at 3pm and did a walk through the canyons in the national park and saw the salt crystals. We then drove to the top of the Valley and watched the sunset which was beautiful and highlighted the andes and the volcanoes on the opposite side. really beautiful and worth every penny. The weather was fantastic the whole time and we met some great people.
We found the place a fab way to saok in the Chilean lifestyle and it made such a difference to the other cities we have been in. (other than the mass of dust EVERYWHERE) :)
