well, i will startby letting you know that Neal survived the gorge swing (it was awesome, a good warm up for impendingh bungee jumps/ sky dives etc!!) the zambezi did not burst its banks and we made it out fine, wet, but fine to Botswana. Botswana is relatively developed, it has a number of stable incomes/economies and it shows, despite this it is VERY cheap- a bottle of vodka - 2 quid and pints are about 40p, wine is simply ridiculous, all of which bodes well!!
First we went to Chobe national Park which is a large and beautiful national park whichhas the large and VERY full Chobe river running through the middle. in the morning we had a game drive- saw lions and giraffes, warthogs, elephants and rhinos and baboons playing with impala. howver, it was early morning and reasonably dull and caroline fell asleep!!! in the afternoon, after more sleep we went on a river cruise through the park- whcih was AWESOME, helped byt the introduction of quite a lot of wine!! we saw LOADS of elephants, elands, hippos, crocs etc- brilliant. saw a hippo fight and elephant swimming!!
We then made our way to Maun to the Okavango Delta which is amazing!! we got Mokoro Canoes, through the delta (a bit like being in the canals of venice i imagine, except without any building and with 0.000001% of the budget!! we had a bush camp in the delta and a few races on the canoes and a bush walk in the BAKING heat which was cool. the okavango delta is a surreal [lace that is hard to explain, i think you perhaps need top wiat for the photos.... soon we hit Namibia- look out!!
