Well I am going to try to get my last few city blogs updated finally!
From Prague we made our way to Munich for just a day and a half. Some how Rick made a huge missight and did not have a chapter on Munich so I was honestly at a little bit of a loss! The first evening we went downtown Munich to take in the Christmas market which was huge, sprawling through the downtown, row upon row of carts down every little street and in church courtyards. We were happy to indulge in a little more Gluhwein. The best part about the Gluhwein at the Christmas markets is that it gets served in a souvenir mug, you can give it back to get our money back, but obviously we held on to all of ours! (what's a little more weight in my backpack :). We wandered around for a bit and then went back to this little sausage stand that we had eyed up earlier. By now I am quite the brat connoisseur and I have to say that was the best brat I had ever had! I would have had a second but ended up having the best dessert of my life instead! When we came across the stand of all these dipped balls I was a little unsure, not knowing exactly what might be in the center but I knew I had to try one. I decided on a white chocolate dipped ball covered in sprinkles and coconut. I bite into it and was instantly transported to heaven! J It was some type of marshmallow crème. It was great. We decided to head home early as we were getting up early for a day at Dachau.
Dachau was a short train and bus ride outside of Munich, we found it easy enough. It was quite a powerful and moving day. We toured the grounds, 'dorms', crematorium and at then end went into the museum. We probably could have spent hours just in the museum, well we did spend hours in there, but could have stayed longer but were exhausted. I took some pictures but none in the crematorium, as it just didn't feel right. It was hard to even be in there knowing what horrible acts had happened in there.
That's about all for Munich, we were up bright and early for Christmas in Salzburg.
