Two days of riding, with a nights rest inbewteen. 500km's riding at times along the coast, and then finding myself making some long winding climbs through mountains, often riding through into the clouds.
Arriving at night, I spent the first hour looking for a hostel. Already frustrated, cold, hungry, needing to take a slash and really wanting to get off the bike, I slowed down as to avoid hurting one of the many street dogs that have run at my bike trying to bite the tyres. I thought I was doing this viscous looking bulldog a favour when it decided to take hold of my ankle. At a later inspection I found that it drew blood. Luckily I managed to get my leg out of there without too much damage.
After feeling cold on my last ride, I spent a good part of today strolling the busy long weekend streets of La Serena finding a bunch of appropriate additions to my riding outfit, which I will test out when I hit the road again tomorrow.
