After our little camper van adventure, we arrived back in Sydney. As we had already been there and done most of the touristy sight seening activities, we spent the week not doing alot. Mainly watching the Australian Open tennis in bed all day. Sometimes its nice to do nothing and have a break from the actual travelling side of things. We had some nice meals though and had one final big night out in Manly Wharf which was supposed to be our biggest night yet so we started on the drink at about 3pm but by midnight, we were all done and attempting to get home. Harder then it seems because to get to Manly, you have to get a 20 minute ferry and the last one leaves at 11.45pm. Typical. So we stood in the taxi queue like the rest of Manly had decided to do and finally managed to get a taxi by 3am. By which point the alcohol had almost worn off and we were all ready for bed.
After another goodbye to the boys in Sydney, we got a flight upto Cairns and stayed there for the night. A nice enough city but not too much to do there so the one day was enough. And we were trying to make our last bit of Australian dollar last us. The flight from Cairns to Singapore had a stopover in Darwin for an hour. And just as we were gettin back on the plane for the second part of the flight, we spotted some familiar faces....four of the boys that we had been bumping into the whole time we were in Austrailia. So as we didnt have any accomodation booked in Singapore (not a surprise) we decided to go with them to where they were staying. Didnt matter that it was only a 5 person room with 6 of us and so me and Jade had to share a bed. But it was either that or the floor.
Once in Singapore, we went over to a tiny island just South of Singapore and stood at the most Southern Place in Asia which was something to add to the list and as it was Chinese New Year, there were loads of things going on all the time so the place was quite mental. Spent three days in Singapore eating plenty of noodles and rice and a couple of sneaky McDonalds when the rice and noodles got too much for us. We did plan a night out on our second night there but after playing a couple of drinking games, we didnt even make it to a bar. I felt abit ill so went and got some food to feel better (McDonalds of all places)....but then Jade felt ill and actually was. Surprise...ha. So we attempted to find a bar but we were all too drunk to even know where we were going and by the time some of us had got back to the room, the others were already asleep in bed so we jumped in and joined them!!
So after a not very exciting time in Singapore but one of the funniest nights out that was actually a night in....we were flying upto Bangkok to start our final leg of the trip in Thailand......or is it?????
Lots of love xxxxxxxx
