Right, I've been home around about 6 months now so its about time I finished this blog, ha ha!! My memories are hazy but I definately remember the highlights from the Melbourne are being our trip to the Neighbours set (lol), a visit to Philip island, driving the Great Ocean Road, and ACDC lane!!! Not to mention the Krispy Kreme Dohnuts on every corner, and the Indie club we went to where Richardson got mentally DRUNK!!! (but thats why we love her!!)
The Neighbours day was funny, we all got on this special bus ("special" being the operative word, ha!!) and had a tour of the set and then had a photo with some woman I have never seen before in my life!! (One of the actresses, allegedly...). Philip Island was possibly my favourite day in Oz, we went to an animal sanctuary and got to feed Wallabys and kangaroo's!! We got right up close to sleepy Koala's (Soooo cute) and tazzy devils and we got to cuddle WILMA THE WOMBAT!!! At sunset we went to the beach where the penguins all come up onto the shore for the night, it was the cutest thing EVER!! They're blue penguins, the smallest in the world, and they're all so clumbsy, and when one falls the others wait for it!! We weren't allowed to take piccys, which is a shame, but fair enough because I wouldn't wanna scare the little mites!!
The Great Ocean Road was gorgeous!! Jagged coast line on one side and rainforrest on the other!! We even saw a Koala up a tree - in the wild, how fab!! We didn't quite make it to the 12 apostles, I won't mention Rick's speeding ticket, obtained trying to get us there before the rental car had to be back....ha ha!!
Our night out at the Indie club was ACE!! I hadn't been expecting Oz to have anywhere really cool and edge-ey, but I loved it!! Melbourne is a very sool city though - it's home to ACDC lane after all!! Ricky provided the entertyainment as always - highlights being her swinging around a tree and unfortunately answering honestly when passers by asked where she was from. Oh, and the old Wolvo Wanderers chants came into play, as per....
Then it was off to Sydney!! I'd enjoyed the activities we'd done from Melbourne, but as for the city, it seemed just, well, normal!! I was beginning to get homesick, especially in terms of missing Jim, and whilst for most people I know being in places like Melb that are similar to home makes that better, I found the opposite!! Still a fantastic place though!!
