After the not so pleasant ferry from Kuata, we arrived at South Sea Island in the pouring rain. We arrived at Kuata Island, which was surprisingly a nice resort considering the amount of bad reports we had heard about it. Then it was dinner time. We had rice and some kind of spicy chicken, whilst watching the numerous geckos on the ceiling having their own feast. We arrived at the Wanna Taki cruise ship yesterday afternoon and took refuge from the heat in the air conditioned dorm! Soon went out on the deck to sunbathe, and the sea is only a jump off the side of the boat if we get too hot! After a bumpy ride through the Fijian islands on the Yasawa Flyer catamaran, we arrived at our first island...ours was the one with the grey raincloud over it (surprise surprise). The resort was called Coral View, and we were herded off the catamaran into two tiny fishing boats to take us and all our luggage over to the island. We arrived in Fiji today and were welcomed in the airport by the local answer to the greeter in Asda, only these lot sing in Hawaiian shirts. Transferred to our hostel, got talked at for an hour by our very exuberent roomie James and then escaped and went out for a curry and to sample the local beer Fiji Gold. We're getting picked up by our tour bus tomorrow at 8am, and we're going off to the islands for the next 8 days - will hopefully return with a tan!
