We loved Krabi town. I've heard a lot of bad things about Krabi, but there are two actual destinations, Krabi town and Ao Nang, where the beach is. Ao Nang is party land, it's got a big strip of bars and a ton of restaurants aimed at the western tourists. Krabi town is a little less visited, the restaurants are a little more authentic, and whilst there are a few bars along the main quad, it retains a relaxed feel.
