Another day, another bus journey! After an epic day in kampong Cham yesterday (I'll catch up on that another time) we've moved to North to Kratie, home of the mekong river Dolphins. Only stopping here a couple of nights, we've found a kayak tour that goes to a submerged Forrest and a few other spots before getting up close to the Dolphins, so this afternoon we'll try and sort booking for tomorrow. We loved this sleepy little town. Our classic go to, Capitol tours, didn't go this far north, but after a little searching around pub street we found another company that did, and for $6 we made our way west. Reviews of our guest house said that they didn't speak much English, that turned out to mean No English apart from 'air conditioning', still £7 a night we got a twin room close enough to the very few things in the town. So we've moved on from Siem reap. Unfortunately we didn't learn from our 5am headache at the angkors and went back for more chocolate martinis (so deceitfully tasty) last night. They didn't agree with Tash so well, Cue a 6 hour journey with a few plastic bags. So think we'll camp up tonight and stay here a bit longer!

This morning we had a lovely wake up call at 4 45 to get our tuk tuk out to the angkors, starting the day watching the sun rise over Angkor Wat, which damn stunning. Followed by bayon, terrace of the elephants, ta prohm and preah Khan. Absolutely epic day, although it's now only 3pm and are shattered!

We were quite glad to escape the heticness of phnom pehn and headed 6 hours west to Battambang. Technically this is cambodia's second largest city, but it feels like a sleepy suburb, partly thanks to the blanket ban on buses and trucks in the city centre.
