After a day in Kuta we headed north in search of a touch of culture in Bali.
Ubud is known as the art centre of Bali, it's got two little, windy roads to walk along, full of little art, jewlery and souvenir shops. We've had two days here, and have just spent in exploring the streets and little temples that line them.
Bali is horrifically hot, unlike anywhere else we've been. Luckily the hostel has a deal with the hotel pool next door and we can go for a quick dip at the end of a very hot day! It's been nice to be back in a hostel again, been very fortunate to have a good group here, which always makes stays more enjoyable.
Bali isn't as bad as was made out to me, however you can expect to be asked if you want a taxi every 2 steps and I managed to get sworn out in Indonesian when I stood firm on my bartering (I got it anyway!). It's a strange mix of tourism and culture and I'm not sure it's captured me yet.
Heading to Sanur today to see what that's like, maybe a few days of relaxing before heading to Australia.
