OK at last i have found a computer that will let me write the blog which as i know has got a little behind!!

SO after China we flew to Hanoi and spent a few days there not doing much as we are coming back here to start our next intrepid trip. So we spent 4 days there eating ice cream by the lake and getting our hair done my hair looks nice for the first time since i left home!!! The guy at the hostel book flights to Luang Prabang in Laos which was recommended to us. we ended up flying as the bus took 28 hours!!!! and a girl at our hostel recommended a cool hostel there Spicylaos.

So on the 7th of october we fly to Luang Prabang in Laos ready for my birthday. At the airport in Laos we getting talking to Tonia who is traveling on her own at the moment as her fiance is getting a new passport. She comes with us to our hostel as she has forgotten the details of hers!!! The first night we stay ina different hostel as spicylaos was full its a nice guest house run by a french guy and his wife. For some reason at the airport my knee started hurting and is really painful esp wal;king up the stairs and we are upstairs of course!!! Had very nice noodle soup at a local resturant. Then sat chatting. The next day we went and had late breakfast sitiing by the Mekong river a beautful place to eat the river has mountains all around so relaxing here after Hanoi which is crazy busy. Crossing the road there is a nightmare, here there is very little traffic!!

After Breakfast we move to spicylaos backpackwers and Tonia comes with us which is cool as she seems really nice. After checking in a mix doom so we can all be in the same room we sitting chatting to everyone in the reception. We meet so many really nice and friendly people here it it great. The guy that runs the Hostel Pong has organized a trip to the waterfall for tomorrow so i am going to a waterfall for my bday i guess!! We tell him it is my bday and he says he will organise something.

That afternoon we go for drinks and cake to bon cafe with jade who we met at the hostel had a banana crumble nice thou there was no crumble!! Then when the sun was not as hot we set off for the temple on a hill. We took the slope route as my knee is still hurting very pretty way place small houses and a little forest. the views from the top where great well worth the walk up there. But unlucky for us there was no sunset too cloudy. That night we went to a veggie buffet where both me and sandra ate for a pound!!! You could eat as much as you could fit on your plate.

So Today is my birthday i found the present my mum sent with me when i left home last night and my cards from mum and grandma last night. So i open these when i wake up my present was a lovey necklace with a locklet which has a guiden angel on it saying it is to look after me and remind me i am loved. It is really nice wear it and show it to everyone. I stick all of my card on the wall by my bed looks good. Then it is breakfast time which is great here they have cornflakes and peanut butter!!!! And it is available until 12!!!!!! It is really nice everyone wishes me happy birthday feel spiecal!!! Sandra gives me my pearls and some chocolate!!! The waterfall was great water was a bit muddy looking as it had been raining!! It typical a lovely sunny morning and when we go out it starts raining!!! And cos of the rain there as been laterly the water is quite fast flowing. Everyone else jumps of the tree in to it then off the waterfall edge not me thou no way knowing me i would fall in!! I do go in the water thou very cold!!! We walk to the main part of the waterfall which is very impressive but you cant swim in this part so we just pose for pics. when we get back it is time to get ready for the yellow pants party yes yellow pants not my idea i can tell you not keen on the idea either but after a few drinks they dont seem so bad!!! Talk to my mum before we go which is really nice and talk to Laura very briefly.

So the yellow pants party turned out to be lots of fun esp when we had a few dirnks lots of people bought me birthday drinks which was nice. We went to Lao Lao graden where pong had put up a birthday banner and ballons. After a bafflo burger which was yummy i had a birthday cake as well which was nice had my name on it and pretty flowers!! It tasted nice too!!!! After eating we went to the club as the bar and resturants by law have to shut at 11:30 and the club is open until 12 which is just as well as i did really like it!!! When that shut we went to the bowling alley the only place open after 12!!! IT was open until 3 and served beer!!! So we had a game of bowling witha comp between the girls and boys. Sandra won the girls comp!! And got a spicylaos t shirt. We got home around 2;30 and i sat on the computer and put all of my pics on the internet!!! Before going to bed.

We have a really relaxing time in Lao ready for our next big trip starting vietnam. This hostel is a very social place and we meet lots of people here it is great. There is a movie room with lots of movie so i spent a lot of time in there and get addicted to lost season 4 but annoying dont get to watch all of them!!! so am now on the hunt for a hostel with lost season 4!!!!!!!! There is also a really cute tiny little kitten who i adopt for the week his mother is not must more than a kitten herslef so i became his mum for the week he sleep on me for hours then plays games so cute i dont want to say goodbye to him, want to put him in my bag and bring him with me.

Sandra and Tonia go and spend the day with elephants one day but it involves lots of riding of them and after the whole camel horror ride i deciede to stay at home and chill. they had lots of fun thou riding them and washing them.

We also go to the Mekong river one day as the guy who runs the hostel has arranged boat races on the river with the locals the girls team manage to beat the local girls but the boys dont do as well. Then after a bbq lunch of fish chicken and sticky rice i love sticky rice much nicer than normally rice. Some of the guys start jumping in the river off the very high mud bank we are on, at the bottom is a big muddy area and they have jump far enough so they land on the wet mud. I left early with half the group and left the other half there. While we were gone one of the girls tried the jump missed and could move she was in so much pain it took them ages to get her out. Meanwhile at the hostel all of the new guests from the slow boat are arriving with no pong to check them in. the poeple who are here hav no idea what to do so i become pong and manage to check them all in , in the end even it was nothing like it was in the book, but they dont care they have rooms. Then one of the guys that was at the river comes back and says that they are at the hospital as one of the girls has hurt herself the girl with curl hair. Of course i start to panic his english is not good and he cant remember her name so ask him what she is wearing yes he describles Sandras clother dam oh my god what can i do. Well what i did for half an hour was panic like hell. Then they all came back and we found out it was another girl and she is going to be ok just in a lot of pain. Poor girl we know celebrated her birthday with her but she will be ok. And yes she is as the next day she get on a bus for 8 hours.

Everyone is leaving and before long it is our turn to say goodbye to everyone and go back to Hanoi to start our trip. I dont want to go it hads been so nice chilling here but move on we must. OUr trip is waiting and we are already going to miss the welcome meeting....Vietnam here we come...
