This morning we are leaving Murphy, NC and heading to Atlanta, GA to begin our trip to EUROPE!!! We fly from Atlanta to Charlotte and then Charlotte to Paris. We have three bags total that are each at 50 lbs. I think we have weighed them about one million times and when we got to the airport they were all exactly at 50 lbs. It is pretty difficult to pack for a trip like this, especially when you have to consider the textbooks and teaching materials have to come too. We did have the option of mailing some things but they warned us that sometimes things don't arrive…we can't take that risk.
We have had such a great time visiting family and friends in Murphy. We have been to watch the kids at swim team practice, eaten at a Black Sheep (Margaret Mitchell visited this old home several times), visited Aunt Cathy and Uncle Daryl in Franklin, took a walk with lifelong friend Allison Laney, took great walks in the park with the dogs. The visit was way to short but we are glad we had a few days.
This morning Mom and Dad drove us down to the airport (2 hours from Murphy, NC) and we are now awaiting our boarding call. We will arrive in Paris tomorrow morning at 6:55am. We are going to take a sleeping pill once we get on the plane in Charlotte so that we can try to adjust quickly to the time change. It is only 6 hours ahead of us here in NC. Let the fun begin! Bye ya'll in Murphy and bonjour Paris.
