Petra, known as the rose red city, is the famous lost city in Jordan. It has structures of 250ft tall natural formation rocks of more than 65million of age.
It was one of the main trading route of silk road connecting China, India, Egypt and Greece. The transport used back then was camel caravan.
Entrance to Petra is 400m distance to the main gate. The distance from Petra main gate to the Treasury is 1mile long, which is the most important part of Petra. The Treasury is used as the tomb of King Nabateans.
The Treasury of Petra was breathtaking, standing tall majestic and magnificent! It shows extraordinary engineering technology during ancient times. The Nabateans were also advanced in irrigation system and astrology -Nabateans calendar.
The people of Petra are mostly traders and they live as nomads. These people are called the beduin tribes.
