Well, we are here. Another capital city, another country.

We have been here for 3 days trying to settle in. The traffic is not as bad as we expected, in parts it is better than Sydney. It seems to be like organized chaos, but there seems to be a method of merging and u-turns as there are no right hand turns. Makes it hard to get bearings, but it is interesting to look about.

The pollution and heat has not been as bad as we had expected, but I suppose we have been in air conditioned premises a fair bit.

The kids have been great, the Indonesians love the kids especially just saying thank you in their language. I am hoping that they will learn Bahasa Indonesian at their school, which they start in the new year. The kids have spent a fair amount of their time in the pool. A bit like being at home, although I did see it was 18 degrees, so doesn't sound like it is warm there yet.

More details to come, as we experience more of the city. Photo is the view from our window. It was the clearest day we have had, as you can see the mountain in the background.
