I'm ready for departure! While a 6:00AM flight wasn't exactly ideal because it meant a sleepless night and leaving for the airport at 2:00 in the morning, I have arrived and am ready to go.
Since my flight is through two different airlines, neither one would let me check in online and told me to arrive to the airport early to speak to an attendant. So, instead of arriving 2 hours prior to flight departure as is normal for a domestic flight (my first leg is to New York) I arrived roughly 3 hours early (3:15AM) to ensure I had enough time to wait in line and take my time with the attendant, ensure I can check my bag all the way through (I can, which is great because I expected to have to pick it up and recheck it. Not that this would have been an issue because my layovers are so long), and make my way leisurely through security and too my gate. Well wait in line I did; no one from the JetBlue staff began working before 4:10. Luckily, since I was so early, I was towards the front of the now humongous line, and made it to my gate with still an hour to spare before boarding. I got some Starbucks, made sure my kindle was nice and full, and got myself comfortable at the gate. The one thing I'm kind of mad at myself for is that I didn't download the rest of the Harry Potter books I've been listening to on audiobook to my computer and then to my iTunes. I forgot I have been streaming them through an App, which of course requires data, which I will not have in just a few short hours, so there's no more HP listening for me (if you can figure out how to help a sista out let me know). My flight to JFK is only 3ish hours, then I will be making myself comfortable for the next 8 hours. Shout out to my daddio for hooking me up with lounge access - I'm looking forward to a nice, long, safe snooze.
That's it for now, once I land I'll be 1/3 of the way to Hyderabad! Kinda.
