Okay our old blog refused to cooperate with us and after I would finish my dialogue and press save and publish, it would delete it and chuckle...happened twice. I felt my artistic talents were being wasted
Anyway let's catch u up to date
Naples: had a good time and loved the place we stayed at. Not touristy at all, wine was $2.50 for a two litre of wine....550ml of beer $1.49'.
Went to leave Naples and had it planned to take metro to the train station, but as we approach metro goes down. Grab a 15 euros cab all is good. Since I pre purchased ticket we could go straight on so we thought. As we go to board a British lady advises we need to scan our tickets or we will get a hefty fine. Off I go to scan the ticket. Try to scan refuses, I mutter under my breath. Try again, mutter louder, look around bewildered. Gentlemen comes over to help the half wit out, doesn't work for him either, go to ticket office and their "please take a ticket" machine works just fine but those waiting are plentiful. ....I cry and no one cares.... go back to Dom and we just get on
While on train I come up with various scenarios if challenged about my un scanned ticket 1) try to explain my way out, 2) get indignant with him and accused his machine of being defective. 3) fake a heart attack and fall to the ground. I see train guy making his way to us, time for action. Okay Dom I'm going down" I tell her thinking plan"C" was our best option. He takes our ticket and a quick scan and smile all good " Okay Harold you can get up" Dom tells me.
Rome. all went well in Rome we wen to to Vatican City the first day, but didn't go in as we were too late and the lineup was crazy. Next day off to colosseum et all. Fantastic history and very informative... Went to Trevi fountain and Dominique got shoved by an old British broad who wanted space at the fountain....She received full mock age and abuse from myself, letting her know her Momma wouldn't be very proud of her actions. Anyway had good eats and the. Next day off to cinq terre
Cinq Terre. We took the fast train to Riogimorre but it only went around 150 km (estimated) anhour at its fasted due to frequent stops, absolutely love this way of travel. So comfortable. Upon arrival we were met by our hosts father who took us for a 5 minute walk up to our villa. Okay when I mean up I mean up to the top of the friggin mountain and more like 15 minutes. Harold the pack mule carrying a back pack and pulling a suitcase with a back pack strapped to it up incredible hills then stairs. I am sure I saw clouds below us....and we started at sea level.
Anyway get to our villa and it is beautiful with a large terrace over looking the sea. We get settled in and decide to walk down for a bite to eat and some groceries. We have some good food get two bags of groceries and Dumb dumb harold says 'let's go this way I know a short cut". Up this huge mountain in around and "oh oh we lost". It's okay it's only dark and I don't even know the name of the street we're on. We walk 1/2 way down mountain, dead end. Back up mountain. Finally when I gave up and was crying and nice gentlemen showed us where to go as I told him we can see the trail to the next village from our villas ans he knew exactly and took us there....which was back up the mountain.
I a man exhausted and we are doing laundry. Tomorrow we will go exploring and see what the day brings
Take care
Harold

Lorine Except for all the crying it seems things are going well. Your stories will no doubt become fireside chats with Howie only changing slightly over the years. Things here are good. Work then we work more. Although I am boycotting work today and seeing my new to be grandsons quilt. Sun is shining and leaves are dropping. Yellow is the colour of the day. Enjoy.
Alex With all these hills you two will have killer legs when you get home! I enjoyed your ticket strategies lol quick thinking
Delaney Schlamp I liked your 3 plans you had in case the man questioned you about your ticket, the heart attack for sure would’ve worked, love you guys
