Today I am swimming in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time in my life. We have an 11 hour layover in Fort Lauderdale so Lauren and I take a cab from the airport to a breakfast place a few miles away and then decide to walk approximately 5 miles down to the beach. About to board the plane, hope to get some shut eye before a big day in Fort Lauderdale tomorrow. 11 hour layover yeah! Already made a friend, a super cool woman spending a year in South America, talk about badass. Gotta turn the phone off now, I'll check in tomorrow!

Only 3 more days until I find myself in places unknown. I am packed and ready for adventure! I can't wait to be in a place where everything is unfamiliar and plans are vague. There is so much to see in this beautiful world and I invite you all along to share the journey with me. I will miss Monterey and all the wonderful people I met there, but South America is calling my name and I'm so excited I can barely wait until Tuesday. I will update this blog as often as...
