A Semester Overseas
I just moved into my Vienna apartment 2 days ago. The apartment is awesome. I have wireless internet, a garden, a living room, and my own soundproof practice room. I took some pictures of it on my digital camera so you can check it out by going to my album entitled "Vienna apartment- 15th district" I live in the 15th district on Jadengasse and I take the U-bahn to class everyday in the first district in Stephansplatz.
I had orientation when I first got to Vienna in Mariazell, a village in the Austrian Alps, in the Salzach Valley in the north Styrian Alps. It was founded in 1157 by the monks of St. Lambrecht's Abbey and it's the most famous pilgrimage place in Austria. In the pilgrimage church is a 12th century statue of the Virgin Mary, regarded by many as miraculous.
The church was very beautiful. We also went hiking around the lake while we were there but it was too cold to swim.
But I was glad to take the bus back to Vienna from Mariazell and see my new apartment. Because Vienna is the best city in the world and there are so many sights to see and things to do here!
