We arrived in Nha Trang to the most rain we've seen this whole trip. Which is a shame because we were told that the only thing there is a beach! The night bus had been far less stressful than our first, but by no means is it a pleasant journey. We all decided to go back to bed for a bit as it was 7am to try and get some much needed sleep.
We woke up a few hours later to find the rain had subsided, but the weather was still pretty miserable. We decided then that we would catch the next bus out of there to Mui Ne as it just wastes time on our visa and there wasn't much to do.
So that day we decided to make the most of our one day in Nha Trang and see some sights. We started with a walk down to the beach and grabbed a drink. If the sun had been shining it would have been amazing, the beach is incredible. Oddly it hasn't got the best write up which none of us could understand.
After that we jumped into a taxi and headed out to see the giant Buddha. It sits on top of a hill and is painted in white. Amazingly this is the first giant Buddha we've seen, they seem to crop up everywhere but we always seem to miss them. It was an amazing sight and we were glad we went to see one finally.
Once we'd seen the Buddha we jumped back into a taxi and headed to seePo Nagar, which is a temple sat on top of a hill on the outskirts of Nha Trang. By this point the sun was just beginning to set over the city and it was really beautiful.
It's so sad that Nha Trang doesn't seem to get much positivity when you read up on it. The place is so pretty, and with the rain we were lucky we saw no other tourists. We were all so glad we'd got out and seen some sights finally. After China being packed with things to see and do, Vietnam has felt a little sparse. We had a quiet night and got ready for yet another bus ride the next day to Mui Ne, where all there is is a beach, but the forecast is just pure sunshine!
