We arrived in Surfers Paradise looking forward to arriving at our hotel. As a treat to ourselves, we had booked into a hotel for the last few nights in Australia as it was only a couple of pounds more expensive a night than staying in a hostel. It turned out that for a ridiculously low price, we had managed to book a suite in a four star hotel! As a result we spent our remaining time in Australia in luxury. We lazed on the beach, swam in the pool, used the sauna and the gym facilities. After roughing it all this time, this was most appreciated.

We didn't do too much in Surfers. We felt that after all of the rushing we had done recently, a few beach days were required before we flew out to Kuala Lumpur.

We have had a fantastic time in Australia. We met up with friends and family, enjoyed the amazing beaches and saw the sunrise over Uluru. We've already begun planning our next trip when, hopefully, we'll be able to afford to spend a bit longer here!
