Hello hello hello. Well if you thought we had forgotton about you all then... no but unlike asia things dont really come for free very often!
When we first arrived in Australia we got really annoyed at the expense of everything.. $5 for a loaf of bread and everything else is just ridiculous. We said when we arrived.. shall we just a flight straight back tp somehwere in asia! Luckily we didnt and our spirits soon lifted. We hired a campervan and crusied up the east coast to the whitsundays, on the way we stayed at lots of free campsites along the way. One was a old ranch and had loads of kangaroos there, finally we felt like we were in Oz and went running down to the roos with our cameras, we looked around all of the aussie holiday makers were looking at us like 'what the hell are they up to, theyre just kangaroos, bloody tourists!!
We got to Airlie beach and went diving at the barrier reef and the second day went on a catermaran boat to see all the islands and whitehaven becah which is in the top 10 beaches in the world and I know why. After that we headed back down all the way to sydney on the way feeding wild dolphins in the harbour at tin can bay, meeting lilys friend Emma from college at Byron Bay, meeting Steve Irwins family at Australia Zoo, having a drink at the opera bar at sydney harbour and much more.... so not so bad after all!
We are now in B.E.A.U.tiful New Zealand which I have to say I would quite happily move to! It is like home but so different at the same time. The kiwi people are amazingly friendly and the countryside is just breathtaking. NZ is all and more i could have ever imagined. We have got a camper again. Our flight from Sydney to Christchurch got diverted to Wellington in the North island due to fog and we had to saty at the airport for 8 hours as customs was closed... when we finally got out they put us in a very plush hotel for the night, the best nights sleep I have had since leaving home. Then the next afternoon we got flown back to Christchurch. There really isnt anything left of the city just ruins, wrecked roads, a real shame.
Since then we have visted lots of places inlcuding Lake Tekapo, Lake Wanaka, Queenstown - where we met carmen! and Franz Jospeh.
We rode horses in the mountains where the Lord of the rings were filmed, Lily rode one of the horse from the film! We have also done the Franz Joseph Glacier trek - where we went in to ice caves, deep crevasses and wore crampons and had ice axes!
So to round it all up- we are having an amzing time! Missing everyone but living far from reality which is fun!
See you all soon, lots of love Emma, Lily Ben xxx
