Mellow Malaysia With our flight from Penang to Phuket booked for 9th February we had just 6 days in Malaysia - not long enough to explore properly, (we stayed just 3 nights in each of Kuala Lumpur and Penang), but it seemed quite relaxed - not nearly so hectic as other Asian countries and the people very pleasant and friendly. Singapore Sling The flight from Darwin to Singapore was fairly uneventful apart from a man that was sitting next to me ...he was asleep when we got on the plane, started snoring very loudly throughout the flight, including take-off and landing, only waking when I gave him a shake as we left the plane - lovely for him....just hope no one thought it was me making all that noise!! We had chosen to stay in Little India and after dumping our bags at the hotel at 10....

Crocodile Rock Adventures. All too soon our week of R & R at Palm Cove was over and we were off to Cairn's airport for our flight to Alice Springs to begin a camping adventure in the Great Australian Outback. Didn't get off to the greatest start as we arrived to find our flight delayed by 4 hours but unlike our esteemed nephew and his journey with United Airlines, Qantas kept us well informed and immediately forked out 25 dollars each for a meal. Not so bad....

New Year the other side of the world. Maybe we're getting complacent after four months of travel so I'll make my excuses for the photos now before we start. Awesome And so to New Zealand....arriving in Auckland from a crazy city like Ho Chi Minh was a bit of a culture shock - all so quiet, calm and ordered. Even the weather was very English summer - after a beautiful first evening the next day it was raining so unfortunately we didn't see Auckland at it's best but did enjoy the Museum where we started our education on New Zealand's 'short' history, people and beautiful landscapes!
