In a country that really is the lucky country, great beaches, safe streets, 4 seasons, open spaces, good roads......shall I continue??
We had an absolute ball, spent more than we planned, but don't regret any of it.
I hope the kids remember this trip for the rest of their lives, they may not remember the historical facts, but I hope they take out of it a greater appreciation for how big and wonderful the world really is. And I hope they won't be afraid to tackle it again.
In hindsight I would change anything, maybe an extra night here, one less night there, that was it.
Six weeks was a long time, but any less would have been rushing it, and it was long enough that we are now excited to be home, and ready to embrace our new home, and maybe it might reflect some things we have seen and collected on our trip.
We left with three bags, 45 kilos, came home with four bags , 85 kilos. And sent home 13 kilos from France. I think I have some extra baggage too, I blame French cheese, good wine, cheap beer, and moussaka.
We were blessed with amazing weather, no thefts, losses, cancellations, damages, illnesses, the whole holiday went like clockwork, a big pommy, frenchy, crazy Greek clock.
Goodnight.
