Wet, wet, wet and cold, cold.
Farewell Edinburgh and welcome York. Our drive through Scotland was rainy and quite slow on the a68.
Just after lunch we arrived into York and headed to the National railway museum, the largest railway museum in the world. It was full of steam train buffs and kids admiring all the engines. We all agreed that grandad would have loved the display of steam engines
After exploring all the engines, interactive displays we moved onto York Castle. A steep climb up the steps and we were inside the remains of the castle. We all then moved onto the Jorvik museum, a Viking exhibit with interactive displays. Mum opted out and enjoyed a quiet cup of tea.
As dusk fell we enjoyed a stroll around the picturesque streets of York. Dinner at an Italian restaurant before retiring to the saddle inn for the night.
