Hey there! In Berlin now. Just got in Tuesday night around 7. I am actually writing this before we arrive on the train ride and will post to the blog once I get an internet connection. I will also work on uploading some photos, so hopefully that works.
The past few days have been quite exquisite. Sunday Brian and I decided to take the train over to Utrecht and just ended up walking around for a few hours, found an irish pub to watch the Algeria and Slovenia game (0-1). We both decided no matter where we go we can always count on an Irish pub to provide a good time. It's a great brand afterall, you always know what you're going to get! ;)
In Utrecht there is this beautiful tower called the Dom tower, very tall and very old. If Phil was with us he would probably be getting excited about the flying buttresses and other architectural terms I can't name at the moment. Well, we ended up liking Utrecht so much we took Carlos back there and stayed at the nicest hostel on Monday night. Strowis is the name and it's the only one it town. The staff was very friendly and it was in a great part of the city. Everyone in Utrecht is very young, turns out there is a large University there, full of young, beautiful, artsy people. And just like Amsterdam they are all on bikes. We luckily didn't get hit by a bike or even come close to causing a crash during our time in the Netherlands.
I feel like there isn't much more to report right now. We really enjoyed our stay in the Netherlands, laid-back, met some really nice people, saw A LOT from all the walking we did, ate some bitterballen (meat/potato/gravy puree filled fried golden balls) also had a fantastic meal at an Argentinian steakhouse (they are EVERYWHERE in Amsterdam) and some bomb grilled prawns at a tapas bar while watching the Netherlands game. It was a boring 2-0 win for the orange, even the locals admit it!
As always thanks for following, I will include a link to my photos once I get them up.
Thanks!
The krew.
