After a couple of says at sea, this was our 1st port. The trip up the inside passage was beautiful. This is the 1st cruise we have done anytime dining and we find it overall better than traditional fixed dining. We can eat any time we want and meet lots of different people. We flew the same day that the cruise started. We will not do that again. We got very close to missing the cruise. Our Northwest Airline flight to Vancouver had a change planes stop in Minneapolis. Our flight from DC was on time, but the connecting flight was delayed. Fortunately there were several others on the flight that were also going on the cruise. We landed in Vancouver about 2:30 and the immigration/customs lines were huge. Princess reps were there waiting...

After the stressful flight it was great to get on board and relax the Ocean Princess. This was our 1st Princess cruise and the 1st impressions were very positive. We had a mid forward balcony cabin that seemed quite spacious. It was a sunny and warm afternoon and the sail away from Vancouver was gorgeous.

We used our rail pass to take the train to the airport. Our flights back to Washington were mercifully uneventful. We had a wonderful trip and made us look forward to getting to Europe again.

It was a cloudy and drizzly day. Salzburg was so nice, we decided to go back there again. After another full day sightseeing and exploring the shops, we returned to Munich. We found a German restaurant near the hotel (who would think we would find a German restaurant in Munich). They did not speak any English but we got by fine by just pointing to things on the menu.
