Today we travelled to Jackson, Wyoming. We stayed the night at Jackson's Cowboy Village, which is a settlement of log cabins. The photo above is taken inside our log cabin and is noteable only because it is the first time I have ever seen queen sized bunk beds!!
I have almost become blase about the scenery. Compared to home, it is all pretty spectacular but you do get used to the reoccuring natural beauty. (I have fallen a day behind on my blog and so can say that this apathetic view will certainly be dispelled with avengence tomorrow, when we visit the Tetons and Yellowstone).
We visited an excellent little museum in a town called Montpelier. It was devoted to the settlers who journeyed on the Oregon Trail. It gave some great insights into the challenges they took on and the hardships they suffered.
We also passed through a town called Cokeville which had a drive through liquor store. There has to a a law against that surely!
Another surprise was to find that the original JC Penny store was in a tiny town called Kemmerer, Wyoming, which has a population of less than 2,000.
Jackson is next to Jackson Hole, which is a very exclusive ski resort in the winter months. Properties there are in the $5 - $10m bracket so we had better leave before the first snowflake falls!!
Cheers for now
