Day 12
The sun was still absent as we woke up to a grey sky. We decided to head to the native animal sanctuary that we had seen on the way to the campsite. As we got in it was apparent that it was more of a native zoo than a sanctuary as they hardly rescued animal. We started our visit with a train ride that lasted five minutes (Martin and I were the only people without children). After the train we were met by one of the keepers who took us around the place showing us some of the animals and one snake!! We then went to feed the kangaroos and to see the Koala bears. After the zoo visit the sky started showing some blue so we headed to the beach. We both fell asleep on the beach before we were woken up by a woman saying that we looked really burnt and that we should cover up. We both jumped up inspecting each other before realising we had no idea what she was seeing!!! We stayed for another hour before we went to the local aquatic centre for a swim.
Day 13 - Australia Day
We were going to wake up early and go down to the local park to have some traditional Australia Day breakfast. But we woke up late and the weather wasn't great so we went down to the park but didn't go in. So instead we started to drive north along the coast. We stopped in a town called Tilba where we bought some cheese from the local cheese factory. We then continued to a town called Moruya where we stayed for the night. The drive would probably have been prettier if it was sunny but at least we managed to cover some kilometres. We only have 3000 to go.
Day 14 - Ulladulla
We continued our drive up the coast to a place called Ulladulla. We stopped to get some food shopping and then we decided to head to the beach for the afternoon as the weather was nice. We decided to stay at a site with power as we needed to charge up the battery and we could also get a shower. The site was cheap at only 15AUD. We had a salad for dinner and then demolished a block of cheese and crackers and watched some more Mad Men!!! If you get nightmares from eating cheese then we should have some tonight.
